The Double H Ranch is one of 30 global member camps of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, founded by Paul Newman. The mission is to extend the magical camp experience to as many children with serious illnesses and life-threatening conditions as possible.

The Double H Ranch provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. The Double H Ranch purpose is to enrich their lives and provide summer and winter ski camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. All programs are FREE of charge and capture the magic of the Adirondacks on the 320-acre Hidden Valley Ranch property.

In 1986, Paul Newman had an inspiration: Why not build a place for kids who are too sick to go to ordinary camps? He would name it The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for the ragtag bandits from his film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Newman founded camps throughout the world with a common goal to give kids the chance to “kick back, relax and have lots of fun!”, and insisting that the camps’ focus be about fun and FREE of charge for all campers and their families.

Physicians and nursing specialists provide each child with around-the-clock care in pediatric hematology and oncology, infectious diseases and critical care. Paul’s Body Shop, is an on-site 24-hour medical facility, which provides the facilities needed by campers. The Body Shop is staffed 24 hours a day by pediatric nurses and licensed physicians.
